I too often feel distressed at the amount of plastic I see everywhere. Especially now with all the bottled water.
I ride horses in the California Sierra foothills and see plastic bags in the middle of nowhere. The other day I saw a decaying teddy bear. I’ve also seen an emu running around that someone just dumped. Really scared the horse!
Our San Joaquin River (one of the biggest in CA) just stops flowing around the town of Los Banos because of ag irrigation.
Happy Halloween.

Thanks Carla,
I don’t like to come off so negative but the impact is overwhelming. What we need now is a good way to use the plastic, make it an asset to collect and build with instead of processing new materials. Something to encourage the cleanup but not create a need. Maybe roofing underlayment or strengthening fiber for concrete structures are some ideas off the top of my head.

As always, love the art and pictures. You never fail to blow my mind with your God given talent. Between you and Donna, your home must be overflowing with creativity, originality, and uniqueness. Is that a word??? I think you have let the tree huggers rub off on you a bit up there, but I still love ya. You almost sound like an Oregonian…. Some days I find myself gazing longingly at Google Maps so that I can look down on our favorite turn on Hot Creek. I look forward to the day when we can take turns casting into the same riffle while we enjoy the boyhood thrill of sneaking a cigar when no one is looking.
